Kailey Mattarella, LMSW
Past: Bachelor's degree in Social work with an emphasis in psychology from Hope College. Masters degree in clinical social work from Spring Arbor University.
Who do I work with: I enjoy working with a wide range of people and concerns. I work in person or virtually and work to accommodate to your schedule the best I can. I work with teens and adults and my goal is to help you identify and achieve your goals for a more joy filled and hopeful future. I would love to connect with you today and hear your story, encourage, and support you with goals and hopes you have!
Do I serve specific populations? I am passionate about helping people in their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. I specialize in depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment, relationship, trauma therapy, and much more. I would love to help you grow, heal, and experience wholeness. Though I am open to serving individuals of all religious types and backgrounds, I particularly enjoy serving individuals of the Christian faith and offer counseling services with a Christian worldview upon request.
What modalities do I use? I use a variety of modalities in therapy work, including client centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution focused, emotion focused therapy methods, and much more. I am particularly interested in helping individuals I serve to build greater capacity for joy in their lives. My therapy work functions off a twofold emphasis of first healing from the past and/or present wounds, and second, helping you to develop into the best version of yourself for the present and future.
Why do I do what I do? From a young age I was eager to help others. After receiving my own therapy for 11+ years, I saw how much it transformed my life for the better and allowed me to function at my highest potential. It birthed a passion inside of me to do my best to help others achieve the same.
Something about my personal interests/hobbies: Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors, adventuring, thrifting, getting creative, and pursuing activities that build greater joy in the lives around me.
Favorite quote/saying: “Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” -Howard Thurman
